Interviewing Presentation You only have one chance to make a first impression and the interview is it! Do your research and base your attire on the ultimate job and salary you want at the company, not the one you are interviewing for. Dress and Appearance - Appropriate attire for an interview is a business suit. If it is an entry-level position, dress pants or skirt and a dress shirt or blouse are acceptable. When in doubt, over-dress to impress, but keep it business, weather, and season appropriate. Your clothes should be neatly pressed and your shoes polished. Nails should be groomed and hair combed. You should wear a mild perfume or cologne. You should wear conservative jewelry and make-up. Nothing flashy. You want to stand out for your amazing interview, not a seemingly off appearance.
