Students should complete a free application for student aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov as soon after January 1st as possible.

Next steps:
Review your FAFSA results for accuracy and correct anything misreported.
Receive your Financial Aid Award Package and accept or decline your awards.
If you were awarded a Stafford student loan, complete a loan application.
If you need additional funds, your parents may complete a Parent PLUS loan application.
Check with your school to complete Loan Entrance Counseling, which is required for student loan borrowers.
Make sure you enroll in classes. Enrollment status (half-time or full-time) will affect your financial aid awards.
